Yabuli is set to become a key venue for the upcoming Asian Winter Games, hosting the cross-country skiing competitions slated for February. The Yabuli Sports Training Base recently held a two-day simulated event, attracting 28 athletes who navigated two challenging routes of 1.3 and 2.5 kilometers.
This test event served as a comprehensive drill not only for the athletes but also for the technical, medical, and umpire staff, as well as media operations personnel. The seamless execution highlighted the Training Base's readiness to meet the high standards of major international competitions.
Organizers emphasized that Yabuli aims to deliver world-class facilities and experiences, drawing on the expertise gained from successfully hosting the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. Out of the 64 events spread across six sports at the Asian Winter Games, Yabuli will be the hub for 32 snow events, located approximately 190 kilometers from the host city of Harbin.
With these preparations, Yabuli is not only showcasing its capability to handle large-scale sporting events but also contributing to the growth of winter sports in the region. As the countdown to the games continues, both athletes and organizers are optimistic about a thrilling and smoothly run competition.
