The Chinese mainland has made history by securing its first world-level title in the skeleton mixed team event at the IBSF World Cup in Winterberg, Germany.
This remarkable achievement not only marks a milestone for the team but also paves the way for the discipline to be featured in the Olympic program for the first time at the 2026 Winter Games in Milano-Cortina.
In the event, Zhao Dan delivered an impressive performance, finishing her run in 1 minute and 1.46 seconds, propelling the Chinese mainland into first place. Following her, Lin Qinwei completed the race with a combined winning time of 2 minutes and 0.87 seconds. This victory is the Chinese mainland's debut World Cup win in the team competition for skeleton events.
Austrian duo Janine Flock and Samuel Maier finished a close 0.10 seconds behind, while another Chinese pair, Li Yuxi and Yin Zheng, claimed third place.
