In a thrilling display of skill and teamwork, Shandong Weiqiao triumphed over Shanghai Estate with a decisive 3-0 victory in the men's semi-finals of the Chinese Table Tennis Super League on Tuesday.
The first match set the tone, where Shandong's Liang Jinkun and Lin Yueru overcame Shanghai's Xu Xin and Zhou Kai in the men's doubles, securing the first point with scores of 11-8, 14-16, 11-9, and 11-9.
The momentum continued in the men's singles as Shanghai's Paris Olympics gold medalist Fan Zhendong faced off against Wang Chuqin. Despite Fan winning the third game 11-5, Wang showcased resilience by clinching the fourth game 11-3, leading to an overall 3-1 victory and putting Shandong ahead 2-0.
In the decisive third match, Liang Jinkun faced Zhou Kai. Liang dominated the first game 11-3, and after a brief setback in the second game, he bounced back to win the next two games 11-8 and 11-5, sealing the match and the semi-final for Shandong.
With this impressive performance, Shandong Weiqiao advances to the final, where they will compete against Hubei Yellowstone for the championship title.
