Man City’s Slump Deepens: 1-1 Draw with Everton

Manchester City continued their challenging season with a 1-1 draw against Everton, marking a disappointing start to a packed Boxing Day fixture schedule.

Bernardo Silva opened the scoring for City early in the match, showcasing moments of their usual flair. However, striker Erling Haaland missed a crucial penalty, symbolizing the struggles the champions are currently facing.

The team's slump is evident, with Manchester City securing only one victory in their last 13 matches across all competitions, including just one win in nine Premier League fixtures. This poor run has them languishing in sixth place on the table with 28 points, trailing leaders Liverpool by 11 points, who also have two more games in hand.

If the current form persists, Guardiola's side could find themselves slipping to as low as eighth place by the season's end, further distancing themselves from the top-tier competition.

Meanwhile, Everton stands at 15th position, maintaining a slim five-point buffer above the relegation zone, highlighting the intense competition and pressure among mid-table and lower-ranked teams as the season progresses.
