The FIVB Women's Club World Championship has entered its second day of competition in Hangzhou. Italy's Imoco Volley Conegliano secured their second consecutive victory in Pool B, defeating Vietnam's LP Bank Ninh Binh with impressive scores of 25-16, 25-8, 25-15.
In a strategic move, the Italian team opted to rest their Chinese star outside hitter Zhu Ting during their second match of the group stage. At 30 years old, Zhu made her first appearance for Conegliano at the tournament on Tuesday, contributing 11 points to the team's opening victory against Brazil's Dentil Praia Clube.
This tournament marks Zhu's return to the Club World Championships after a five-year absence, making it her sixth appearance. Throughout her career, she has represented China's Guangdong and Tianjin clubs, as well as Türkiye's VakıfBank. Her return has not gone unnoticed, with many fans traveling to Hangzhou specifically to watch her play.
Expressing her enthusiasm, Zhu stated, \"We have great coaches and players. Together we learn a lot from each other. No matter what club you play with, you always want to achieve the best result, and bring out the best performance. This helps me to improve, and inspires the spectators who came here to cheer for us. At my new club, the coaches and physios know how to systematically plan things for me, so I can adjust myself in training and competitions. I don't play all the games and train all the time. Basically they know how to use me scientifically.\" Her systematic training and strategic play continue to inspire both her team and the fans watching around the world.
