China Dominates BWF Kumamoto Masters: Li Shifeng and Women’s Doubles Take Titles

In an impressive display at the BWF Kumamoto Masters in Japan, China clinched both the men's singles and women's doubles titles, showcasing their dominance in the badminton world.

China's Li Shifeng ended a season-long victory drought by defeating Malaysian upstart Leong Jun Hao in the men's singles final with a decisive 21-10, 21-13 victory. The seventh-seeded Li, ranked ninth globally, had been a runner-up in his last three finals since winning the Hangzhou Asian Games in October 2023, making this his first BWF World Tour title of 2024.

In the women's doubles, the world No. 2 Chinese duo, Liu Shengshu and Tan Ning, took the championship by overpowering Japan's Yuki Fukushima and Mayu Matsumoto with scores of 21-15, 21-5. This victory marks their fifth title of the year, further solidifying their position at the top of the sport.

The triumphs at the Kumamoto Masters highlight China's continued excellence in badminton, inspiring young athletes and fans worldwide.
