Chinese Swimmers Shine with 1 Gold and 3 Silvers at Incheon World Cup Day 1

Chinese swimmers made a strong debut on Day 1 of the World Aquatics Swimming World Cup in Incheon, South Korea. Four athletes—Pan Zhanle, Qin Haiyang, Yang Junxuan, and Yu Yiting—stepped onto the podium, showcasing China’s prowess in the pool.

Pan Zhanle clinched the gold in the men's 400-meter freestyle, finishing with a time of 3:36.43. Remarkably, Pan was in fourth place during the final 50 meters but surged ahead in the last sprint, setting a new personal best with a six-second improvement.

Qin Haiyang earned silver in the men's 100-meter breaststroke, clocking 56.22 seconds, just behind Belarus' Ilya Shymanovich. Yang Junxuan secured silver in the women's 50-meter freestyle, narrowly trailing Poland's Katarzyna Wasick. Yu Yiting added another silver in the women's 100-meter medley, finishing closely behind the gold medalist from the U.S.

Yu's compatriot, Tang Qianting, also competed, placing fifth in the women's 100-meter medley. The Chinese team's impressive performance on the first day sets a promising tone for the rest of the competition.
