Yin Ruoning Makes History as First Chinese Winner of LPGA Shanghai Title

In a landmark achievement, Yin Ruoning of China has become the first local player to clinch the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Shanghai title. The victory took place at the Qizhong Garden Golf Club in Shanghai Municipality on Sunday.

Yin, currently ranked World No. 4, finished the tournament with an impressive four-round total of 263 strokes, 25 under par. She outpaced Japan's Mao Saigo and South Korea's Kim Sei-young, who tied for second place at 19-under.

The breakthrough moment came during the third round on Saturday when Yin surged up the leaderboard, making eight birdies and an eagle, narrowing the gap to just one stroke behind Saigo.

On the final day, Yin continued her momentum by birdying the first and fifth holes, taking the lead by a stroke. She maintained her performance with six more birdies on the back nine and sealed her victory with a birdie putt on the final hole. This win marks her fourth LPGA title.
