The Beijing Ducks soared to an exhilarating 111-107 overtime victory against the Shanghai Sharks on Sunday, marking a strong start to their new Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) season.

Despite missing key players like Fang Shuo, Zhai Xiaochuan, Zeng Fanbo, and Zhou Qi due to suspensions and injuries, the Ducks showcased their depth and resilience. Shanghai Sharks, benefiting from a fuller roster, took an early lead, finishing the first quarter at 29-26 and the second at 59-51.

Shanghai's Tremont Waters led his team with 13 points and seven assists in the first half, while D. J. Wilson added 12 points, four rebounds, and three assists. On the Ducks' side, Nuni Omot contributed 12 points in the first two quarters, but Richard Solomon and Eugene German struggled, combining to hit only 4-of-14 from the field.

Shanghai's Li Tianrong tied the game with a layup and blocked Chen's potential game-winner, sending the match into overtime.

OT was intense as Beijing initially missed five shots, but German stepped up with a crucial three-point play and a decisive three-pointer, putting the Ducks ahead 109-107 with 46 seconds remaining. Shanghai couldn't recover, committing two key turnovers that sealed the victory for Beijing.
