Excitement is building in Sanya as China's 12th National Traditional Games of Ethnic Minorities enters the final phase of preparations. A vibrant flame lighting ceremony and torch relay have kicked off the journey towards the grand event.
The ceremony took place in Hainan Province, where flames representing traditional regions united to symbolize the harmony among China's diverse ethnic groups. Marine research expert Xu Hongzhou had the honor of lighting the first flame-holder, igniting the relay amidst enthusiastic cheers from the crowd.
Scheduled from November 22nd to 30th in Sanya, the Games will showcase a dynamic mix of 18 competition events and 170 performance events. With a staggering 6,960 athletes competing and over 8,600 volunteers supporting the event, all preparations are now reaching their final stages.
This celebration not only highlights the rich cultural heritage of China's ethnic communities but also promotes unity and understanding across the nation.
