Legendary footballer Andres Iniesta has officially announced his retirement at the age of 40, marking the end of an illustrious career.
Lionel Messi, Iniesta's long-time teammate at Barcelona, took to Instagram to pay heartfelt tribute to the Spanish midfielder.
\"One of the teammates with the most magic and with whom I enjoyed playing the most,\" Messi wrote. \"Football will miss you and so will we.\"
Iniesta and Messi have been pivotal players for Barcelona's first team since 2005, both emerging from the club's famed youth academy, La Masia de Can Planes.
Together, they secured eight La Liga titles, six Copa del Rey championships, and four UEFA Champions League titles, among other prestigious honors.
