Chinese Climbers Triumph at Seoul Climbing World Cup

Chinese athletes Wang Xinshang and Zhou Yafei made a significant mark at the International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) Climbing World Cup held in Seoul, South Korea. Both secured their first World Cup titles by dominating the men's and women's speed events on Friday.

Wang Xinshang's victory was the culmination of his persistent efforts, marking his third appearance in the World Cup final. He overcame compatriot Wu Peng in the quarterfinals and Indonesia's Kiromal Katibin in the semifinals. In a thrilling final race against Amir Maimuratov of Kazakhstan, both climbers experienced slips. However, Wang's remarkable speed saw him cross the finish line in 6.23 seconds, far ahead of Maimuratov's 10.60 seconds.

Expressing his elation, Wang shared, \"It is my first time to win so I'm really happy, it's a wonderful experience.\"

Meanwhile, Kiromal Katibin secured the bronze medal after a competitive matchup against Italy's Matteo Zurloni in the consolation final.
