Five Chinese Stars Advance to WTT China Smash Quarterfinals

The World Table Tennis (WTT) China Smash in Beijing is heating up as five Chinese players have secured their spots in the men's singles quarterfinals. No. 6 seed Lin Shidong, wildcard Xiang Peng, No. 7 seed Lin Gaoyuan, No. 3 seed Liang Jingkun, and No. 5 seed Ma Long showcased their exceptional skills to triumph over their opponents on Thursday.

In a thrilling encounter, Lin Shidong edged out Sweden's Anton Kallberg in a closely contested five-game match. Lin took the first and third games with scores of 11-8, while Kallberg bounced back to win the second and fourth games 11-2 and 11-7, respectively. Demonstrating resilience, Lin Shidong clinched the match with an 11-8 victory in the decisive fifth game. He is set to face Denmark's Anders Lind, who previously upset World No. 1 Wang Chuqin on Tuesday.
