Atletico Madrid Equalize Late in Interrupted Derby Against Real Madrid

In a dramatic La Liga derby at the Metropolitano, Atletico Madrid secured a late equalizer to draw 1-1 against Real Madrid. The match, which saw intense action and high emotions, was interrupted for over 15 minutes due to fan disturbances.

Angel Correa scored in stoppage time, leveling the score after his goal was initially disallowed for offside. A video review overturned the decision, granting Atletico the crucial point. Earlier, Eder Militao had given Real Madrid the lead in the 64th minute.

The interruption occurred shortly after Madrid's goal when Atletico fans began throwing objects, including lighters, onto the field. Referee intervention sent players to the locker rooms to ensure safety, and a stadium message informed spectators of the interruption, cautioning that the match could be suspended if disruptions continued.

Real Madrid's coach, Carlo Ancelotti, remained optimistic despite the draw, stating, \"I always think positively. We moved closer to the leader and we have been playing well.\" On the other hand, Atletico's coach, Diego Simeone, addressed the fan behavior, saying, \"What the fans did wasn't right but we are not helping when we provoke them. We need to help as well.\"

The draw positions Real Madrid in second place, three points behind leaders Barcelona, who ended their seven-game winning streak with a 4-2 loss to Osasuna. Atletico Madrid is currently third, two points behind Real after eight games.
