Ronaldo’s Penalty Secures Al Nassr Victory Over Al Wehda

Cristiano Ronaldo delivered a crucial penalty that led Al Nassr to a 2-0 victory against Al Wehda on Friday, marking their third win in five games for the 2024-25 Saudi Pro League season. This triumph elevates Al Nassr to the third spot on the league table, just one point behind the top two teams, Al Ittihad and Al Hilal.

The first half was dominated by Al Nassr, with Wesley Ribeiro striking the woodwork before Ângelo Gabriel capitalized on a throughball from Sadio Mane to score the opening goal in the 40th minute. Al Wehda showed resilience in the second half, but their efforts were thwarted when Juninho Bacuna's shot was blocked by Al Nassr's goalkeeper Bento.

The decisive moment came in the 56th minute when Mohamed Al Makahasi fouled Sultan Al Ghannam in the box, awarding Al Nassr a penalty. Ronaldo confidently converted the penalty, extending the lead to two goals. Although Mane scored again in the 81st minute, the goal was disallowed due to an offside call involving Ronaldo.

Al Wehda nearly mounted a comeback but were reduced to ten men in the final minutes after Waleed Bakhashwain received a second yellow card for dissent. Despite the late challenges, Al Nassr maintained their advantage, ensuring a solid performance on home turf.
