The Chefs de Mission Seminar for the ninth Asian Winter Games commenced in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province in the Chinese mainland, on Monday. Representatives from 32 National Olympic Committees gathered to discuss the upcoming event scheduled for February 7-14, 2025.
The Hangzhou Asian Winter Games Organizing Committee (HAWGOC) presented updates on various aspects of the Games' preparation. Key discussions focused on 17 major topics, including competition services, venues, the Athletes Village, anti-doping measures, and catering and accommodation services. Organizers also addressed questions and concerns raised by the Chefs de Mission.
To ensure comprehensive understanding and smooth operations, the Organizing Committee facilitated multiple one-on-one sessions with delegation chiefs and established consultation booths covering 14 operational areas such as ticketing, protocol, and medical services. Additionally, delegation chiefs visited competition venues to familiarize themselves with the facilities and site conditions.
Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) Vice President Song Luzeng praised the efforts of all stakeholders, stating, \"We are pleased to see that with the concerted efforts of all stakeholders, HAWGOC has achieved great success. On behalf of the OCA, I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks and congratulations to the COC and HAWGOC for the great efforts and achievements you have made in the past year.\"
The ninth Asian Winter Games are anticipated to feature record-setting participation from 34 National Olympic Committees, marking a significant milestone for the event.
