Lando Norris Leads McLaren to Top in Singapore GP Practice

In a standout performance at the Singapore Grand Prix, McLaren's Lando Norris set the fastest lap in the second practice session on Friday. Norris edged out Ferrari's Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, establishing McLaren as a strong contender for the weekend.

Norris clocked a best time of one minute 30.727 seconds, just 0.058 seconds faster than Leclerc and 0.629 seconds ahead of last year's winner Sainz. Starting from 15th on the grid, Norris showcased his skill by finishing fourth in the practice session.

\"The pace is good. I'm feeling good. It was a nice lap. I think we are doing what we expect, to be up at the front with Ferrari,\" Norris commented. He added, \"I was hoping to have a much bigger gap than I had, which means Ferrari are very, very fast. But things are going well so far.\"

Meanwhile, Red Bull's championship leader Max Verstappen faced challenges, finishing only 15th fastest, 1.294 seconds off the pace. Verstappen, who leads the championship by 59 points over Norris with seven rounds remaining, is now without a win in seven races. He expressed concerns over a lack of grip in low-speed corners. Teammate Sergio Perez also echoed similar sentiments, stating that the car lacks balance and \"is not looking great at the moment.\"
