Oscar Piastri won an instant Formula 1 classic that had it all at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix on Sunday. The race was marked by intense battles, dramatic late crashes, and impressive comebacks that kept fans on the edge of their seats.

Piastri, driving for McLaren, started second behind Leclerc. Demonstrating exceptional skill and daring, he took the lead with a swoop past the Ferrari driver into the first corner on lap 20 of 51. This victory marks Piastri's second career win, a significant achievement for the young driver.

The race took a dramatic turn when Sergio Perez and Carlos Sainz Jr. collided while vying for podium places. Both drivers were in contention for the championship, and the crash was a pivotal moment in the race. Meanwhile, Lando Norris showcased his tenacity by battling his way from 15th on the grid to finish fourth, surpassing the standings leader Max Verstappen despite Verstappen maintaining a formidable 59-point lead with seven rounds remaining.

Norris was following closely behind Sainz and Perez when the collision occurred, recounting the harrowing experience of driving into flying debris. \"Driving full gas into a into a wall of carbon fiber on the penultimate lap, I mean, that was pretty crazy. You couldn't see anything,\" Norris said.

Leclerc, who has started on pole for the last four races in Azerbaijan, yet to secure a win here, reflected on the challenging day for Ferrari, stating, \"Not, obviously, another great day for the team.\"

George Russell finished the race in third place for Mercedes, which crossed the finish line under speed restrictions. McLaren's strategic decisions, often questioned throughout the season, proved effective as they converted second and 15th on the grid into first and fourth at the flag, marking a triumph for the team.

Piastri shared his relief and excitement, saying, \"That was probably the most stressful afternoon of my life.\" as he celebrated his victory with his team over the radio after the race.
