In a stunning display of skill and determination, Chinese paddlers Sun Yingsha and Lin Shidong emerged victorious in the women's and men's singles finals respectively at the World Table Tennis (WTT) Champions Macao. The event, held in the Macao Special Administrative Region on Sunday, saw both athletes secure their titles in thrilling matches.
Sun Yingsha faced off against compatriot Wang Yidi in a fierce contest, ultimately triumphing with scores of 11-7, 6-11, 12-10, 4-11, 11-8, 11-4. Reflecting on her performance, Sun shared, \"I found myself in a better form in the fifth and sixth games. I came to play in Macao right after the 2024 Paris Games without systematic training sessions. But my performance improved quickly as I continued to play at the tournament.\"
Looking ahead, Sun expressed optimism for the future, stating, \"The new Olympic period has begun. Maybe it's still too early to think about the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics because it's still four years away. But winning this title is a good start for me. I hope I can win more matches and perform well at the WTT China Smash in Beijing.\"
On the men's side, Lin Shidong showcased his prowess by defeating his opponent to secure the men's singles title. This victory marks a significant achievement for Lin as he continues to establish himself in the competitive table tennis scene.
