Sabalenka Clinches U.S. Open Final After Thrilling Victory Over Navarro

In an electrifying matchup at Arthur Ashe Stadium, second seed Aryna Sabalenka secured her spot in the U.S. Open final on Thursday, overcoming a resilient rally from American Emma Navarro with a score of 6-3, 7-6(2).

Last year's runner-up Sabalenka showcased her dominance by unleashing over 34 winners, ultimately closing the match with a powerful overhead smash on match point. Despite a spirited comeback from Navarro, who had earlier ousted defending champion Coco Gauff in the fourth round, Sabalenka's experience and power proved too much for the 13th seed.

The passionate home crowd was firmly behind Navarro, prompting Sabalenka to humorously offer them a free round of drinks if they chose to support her instead of their local favorite. After her win, Sabalenka playfully remarked, 'Now you're cheering for me – wow – it's a bit late.'

Reflecting on the match, Sabalenka added, 'Even though you guys were supporting her I had the goosebumps. She's such a great player, really tough opponent.'
