Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham Out Until September with Muscle Injury

Real Madrid faces a setback as Jude Bellingham is sidelined for the next month following a muscle injury in his right leg sustained during training on Friday.

According to a statement from the club, Bellingham injured his plantaris muscle, keeping him away from the pitch until mid-September. \"[Bellingham] got a knock,\" said coach Carlo Ancelotti during a news conference. \"After tests carried out today by Real Madrid's medical services, we are evaluating his condition.\"

Bellingham quickly became a pivotal player for Real since joining Estadio Santiago Bernabeu in July 2023, scoring 23 goals and providing 14 assists last season. His contributions were instrumental in securing both the La Liga and UEFA Champions League titles for the Spanish giants.

The 2024-25 La Liga campaign kicked off with a 1-1 draw against RCD Mallorca on August 18. Real Madrid is set to host their first home game of the season against Real Valladolid this Sunday, which will also mark the debut of their summer signing, Kylian Mbappe.

Reflecting on the season opener, Ancelotti commented, \"It was quite clear in terms of the evaluation. We lacked balance at times and we have to work on that. It isn't too complicated. When the problem is clear, there's a clear solution.\"

Despite concerns about team dynamics, Ancelotti assured that players like Rodrygo, Mbappe, Vinícius Junior, and Bellingham are thriving together. \"[Rodrygo] told me he's very happy here. He's working hard, he's been one of the best in these games, so there's no problem with him,\" he added.
