At 76, Eriksson has been courageously battling terminal pancreatic cancer. Earlier this year, he revealed that he had \\"at best a year to live,\\" prompting many to reflect on his remarkable career and contributions to the sport.

\\"Life is also about death; you have to learn to accept it. Hopefully, in the end, people will say, 'Yes, he was a good man,' but not everyone will say that. Eriksson's coaching journey began in 1977 and spanned numerous clubs and national teams. Notably, he managed Lazio in the Italian Serie A from 1997 to 2001, leading them to a Serie A title in the 1998-99 season and earning the Serie A Coach of the Year award in 1999-2000.

From 2001 to 2006, Eriksson served as the manager of the England national team, guiding the Three Lions to the quarterfinals in two FIFA World Cups (2002 and 2006) and Euro 2004. His strategic vision and leadership left a lasting impact on English football.

Beyond Europe, Eriksson also made his mark in the Chinese Super League, coaching Guangzhou City (then known as Guangzhou R&F), Shanghai Port (then Shanghai SIPG), and Shenzhen between 2013 and 2017. His global influence and dedication to the sport have inspired countless young athletes and coaches around the world.
