Judd Trump of England beat Lyu Haotian of the Chinese mainland 5-1 to advance to the round of 16 at the World Snooker Tour's Xi'an Grand Prix in Xi'an, northwest the Chinese mainland's Shaanxi Province, on Wednesday.
Trump built a quick 2-0 lead over Lyu with breaks of 61 and 68 in the first and second frames, respectively. Lyu then wasted an opportunity to rally in the third on a red and had to watch Trump claim the frame with a break of 94.
After dropping the fourth frame, Lyu pulled one back in the fifth with a century break. But Trump opened the following frame with a break of 54 and after his opponent failed on a black, the Englishman launched another attack to seal the deal.
