Shandong Taishan showcased their dominance in the Chinese Football Association (CFA) Cup by defeating Henan 3-1 at home on Wednesday, securing their place in the semifinals.
The match kicked off energetically with Bi Jinhao heading in a cross from Xie Wenneng just eight minutes in, giving Taishan an early advantage. Marcel, who joined the team in July, extended the lead seven minutes later, marking his first goal with the club.
Shandong continued to press forward, and in the 66th minute, Gao Zhunyi set up Valeri Qazaishvili, who completed the hat-trick and sealed the 3-0 lead. Henan's Zhong Yihao managed to score in the 70th minute, but it was too late to change the outcome.
This victory marks Taishan's third win in seven days and their seventh consecutive year reaching the CFA Cup semifinals. Up next, they will face Chengdu Rongcheng in a battle for a spot in the final, aiming to add another trophy to their illustrious history.
