Unstoppable: Lin Suiling Leads Chinese Wheelchair Basketball Team to Paris 2024

Lin Suiling, the captain of the Chinese women's national wheelchair basketball team, is set to aim for the top podium at the upcoming 2024 Summer Paralympic Games in Paris alongside her dedicated teammates.

Born in 1991, Lin began her journey in wheelchair basketball at 17 by joining the Guangzhou City women's team. Her exceptional skills earned her a spot on the national team five years later. Since being named captain in 2018, Lin has steered her team to impressive achievements, including a silver medal at the Tokyo Paralympics in 2021, a runners-up finish at the 2023 Wheelchair Basketball World Championships in Dubai, and a gold medal at the 2023 Asian Para Games in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province.

Despite facing doubts about her stature, Lin's unwavering dedication and relentless training have honed her remarkable on-court abilities. Reflecting on her early challenges, Lin shared, \"I blocked those noises and focused on training in the following month.\" Her perseverance paid off as she evolved into the team's leading scorer.

Lin credits much of her growth to coach Chen Qi, who has been instrumental in refining her skills and boosting her confidence. \"I'm very proud to play at my third Paralympic Games,\" Lin expressed with pride.

Coach Chen added, \"Everyone wants to win gold at the Para Games in Paris. Our goal is to retain the silver and go for the gold. Even if we fail to do it in the end, we will have no regret after giving our best in this process.\"
