Thiago Motta Leads Juventus to Thrilling 3-0 Victory Over Como

In his debut as head coach, Thiago Motta steered Juventus to a convincing 3-0 win against newly-promoted Como in their Serie A opener at the packed Allianz Stadium on Monday. The victory has reignited hopes for a title push at the Turin-based club.

Forward Samuel Mbangula and winger Timothy Weah both found the back of the net in the first half, marking their first Serie A goals for Juventus. Mbangula made history as the youngest Belgian goalscorer in Serie A and the first to score for Juve in Italy's top flight. Andrea Cambiaso sealed the win with a stunning long-range strike in stoppage time.

Juventus began the season with renewed energy under Motta, who previously led Bologna to the Champions League. The team showed dominance early on, with Dusan Vlahovic testing Como's defense before Mbangula's solo effort in the 23rd minute. Weah extended the lead just before halftime with a precise finish from a Kenan Yildiz cross.

Como struggled to create meaningful chances despite maintaining possession, highlighting the gap in quality between the two sides. The visitors, managed by former Arsenal, Barcelona, and Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas, had secured promotion after a strong season but faced a tough challenge in their return to Serie A after 21 years.

Juventus continued to press in the second half, with Vlahovic believing he had scored before the goal was ruled out for offside. Cambiaso's late goal ensured a comfortable victory for Juve, while Atalanta also enjoyed a strong start to their season with a 4-0 win over Lecce.

With this impressive start, Juventus fans are optimistic about the team's prospects under Motta's leadership, hoping to bring the Serie A title back to Turin for the first time in four years.
