Aryna Sabalenka has secured her first Cincinnati Open final with a commanding 6-3, 6-3 victory over Poland's World No. 1 Iga Swiatek in Sunday's semifinals. The Belarusian World No. 3 displayed a dynamic and aggressive playing style, marking her third encounter this season with Swiatek and their first on a hard court.
Sabalenka stated, \"I wasn't over-rushing things. I was trusting myself a lot, and I wasn't trying to over-hit the ball. I was just trying to stay there, put as much pressure as I can on her and I was really focused on my serve.\"
Despite Iga Swiatek's determined attempt at a late-game comeback, she struggled to match Sabalenka's pace and precision, ultimately falling short as Sabalenka advanced to the final alongside fellow semifinalist Jessica Pegula.
