The delegation from the Chinese mainland for the 2024 Paris Summer Paralympics was introduced in Beijing on Friday.

The 516-member delegation includes 284 athletes who will participate in 302 events across 19 sports, with 126 male and 158 female athletes. The team features a range of ages, from 48-year-old table tennis player Xiong Guiyan to 15-year-old swimmer Zhu Hui.

A total of 95 Chinese athletes will be making their Paralympic debuts in Paris.

The 2024 Paris Summer Paralympics are scheduled to begin on August 28 and conclude on September 9, featuring around 4,400 athletes from 160 nations and regions competing in 549 events across 22 sports.

Paris 2024 will mark China's 11th appearance at the Summer Paralympics. In the pandemic-delayed Tokyo Summer Paralympics in 2021, Chinese athletes secured 96 gold, 60 silver, and 51 bronze medals.
