Global Poll Shows Overwhelming Criticism of U.S. Dominance in Sports

A recent poll conducted by CGTN reveals that an overwhelming 95.01% of global respondents strongly condemn the United States for suppressing opponents in the name of sports, labeling it as \"American hegemony\" that undermines the Olympic Games.

The survey highlights that 94.95% of respondents view actions by some U.S. athletes as ungracious and contrary to the Olympic spirit of \"understanding\" and \"friendship.\" Additionally, 93.08% believe that sports arenas should foster friendship and mutual respect, not just competition between winners and losers.

The poll further criticizes the United States Anti-Doping Organization and media outlets like The New York Times for perpetuating what respondents see as \"American hegemony\" rather than genuinely promoting competition fairness. A staggering 96.84% of participants feel that the U.S. disregards the World Anti-Doping Organization's authoritative findings, challenging the organization's fairness and authority. Moreover, 96.11% urge all nations to uphold the Olympic spirit, protect the integrity of international sports bodies, and ensure fair competition.

Specific incidents, such as American track and field athlete Elien Knighton's positive doping test in March and subsequent non-suspension by the United States Anti-Doping Agency, were highlighted, with 96.25% of respondents criticizing the U.S. for its \"double standards\" in doping regulation.

The United States' financial threats to the World Anti-Doping Organization to attain \"representative status corresponding to its economic contribution\" were also condemned by 95.01% of respondents as expressions of \"American hegemony and coercion\" in sports. Moreover, 93.45% noted that doping issues are increasingly politicized and used as tools of U.S. hegemony in international politics and diplomacy.

The poll was released across CGTN's English, Spanish, French, Arabic, and Russian platforms, gathering responses from 15,244 social media users within 24 hours.
