Li Yuehong Secures China’s First Olympic Gold in 25m Rapid Fire Pistol

In a historic triumph at the 2024 Paris Summer Games, seasoned shooter Li Yuehong secured China's first-ever Olympic gold medal in the men's 25-meter rapid fire pistol event. Achieving this monumental feat on the tenth full day of competition, Li demonstrated exceptional precision and composure to top the podium.

The silver medal was claimed by South Korea's Cho Yeong-jae, marking his country's inaugural medal in this discipline at the Games. Adding to China's success, Li's compatriot Wang Xinjie earned the bronze, showcasing the depth of talent within the Chinese shooting team.

At 34 years old, Li is the oldest member of the Chinese shooting squad, bringing a wealth of Olympic experience to the table. The Paris 2024 Games marked his third Olympic appearance, following his bronze medal victories in Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020.
