Liu Yukun Clinches Gold for China in Paris Olympic Shooting

Liu Yukun delivered an outstanding performance at the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics, securing the gold medal in the men's 50-meter rifle 3 positions event. This remarkable achievement marks China's 10th gold medal in Paris and their fourth in shooting at this year's Games.

The 27-year-old set a high standard by previously establishing a world record with a score of 468.9 points at the ISSF World Cup in Baku, Azerbaijan, on May 11. Although he didn’t break his own record in Paris, Liu’s final score of 463.6 points was more than sufficient to surpass Ukraine’s Serhiy Kulish, who earned silver with 461.3 points.

India’s Swapnil Kusale also made a strong showing, securing the bronze medal with a score of 451.4 points. Liu’s victory not only highlights his personal excellence but also reinforces China’s dominance in the shooting sports arena on the global stage.

As the Olympics continue, Liu Yukun’s triumph serves as an inspiration to aspiring shooters and sports enthusiasts around the world, showcasing the dedication and skill required to excel in competitive sports.
