China's national table tennis team is ramping up preparations for the 2024 Summer Olympics with a focused training session at South Paris Arena 4.
The team, reigning champions in four out of five events from the Tokyo Games in 2021, is set to compete in men's singles, women's singles, men's team, women's team, and mixed doubles.
Last time, mixed doubles was the only category where China did not secure the gold medal. Determined to reclaim the title, the team has selected top pair Sun Yingsha and Wang Chuqin to represent China in Paris.
Following their singles training, Sun and Wang engaged in practice matches with Zhou Qihao, He Zhuojia, Liu Dingshuo, and Wang Tianyi. Throughout these sessions, mixed doubles coach Xiao Zhan provided strategic insights and guidance.
The table tennis competitions at the Paris Olympics will commence on Saturday and conclude on August 10. The finals are scheduled for July 30 (mixed doubles), August 3 (women's singles), August 4 (men's singles), August 9 (men's team), and August 10 (women's team).
