Shanghai Port has continued its impressive run in the Chinese Super League (CSL) by defeating Qingdao Hainiu 5-0 on Sunday. This victory marks their 15th consecutive win across all competitions, matching the CSL record of 13 straight wins previously held by Guangzhou and Shandong Taishan.
Since the commencement of the 2024 CSL season, Shanghai Port has remained undefeated, leading the standings with 51 points—two points ahead of second-placed Shanghai Shenhua.
All five goals were scored in the second half by Leo Cittadini, Gustavo, and Wu Lei. Gustavo notably completed a hat trick, finding the net in the 50th, 51st, and 76th minutes. Matias Vargas contributed significantly, assisting three of the team's five goals, elevating him to second place in assists with nine, just behind his teammate Oscar.
Looking ahead, Shanghai Port is set to host Nantong Zhiyun this Friday. The CSL leaders are optimistic about breaking the league's winning streak record as they face a bottom team that has lost 12 of their 20 games.
