DeMar DeRozan Joins Sacramento Kings in Major Multi-Team Trade

Free agent swingman DeMar DeRozan is set to enhance the Sacramento Kings' roster with a three-year, $67 million contract, as part of a complex sign-and-trade deal involving multiple teams. ESPN reported on Saturday that the Sacramento Kings, Chicago Bulls, and San Antonio Spurs were all part of the transaction.

Under the terms of the deal, the Kings will send Chris Duarte, two NBA Draft second-round picks, and cash considerations to the Bulls. Additionally, Harrison Barnes will be sent to the Spurs, further balancing the trade among the involved teams.

DeRozan, who is turning 35 in August, had an impressive run with the Bulls during the 2023-24 season, averaging 24 points and 5.3 assists per game. Despite missing out on the Eastern Conference All-Star lineup and not being a prolific three-point shooter, DeRozan has established himself as one of the league's top isolation scorers and is a three-time All-NBA selection.

This move is expected to bring veteran leadership and scoring prowess to the Kings, positioning them as a formidable contender in the upcoming seasons. Fans and analysts alike are eager to see how DeRozan's experience and skills will integrate with the Kings' dynamic roster.
