China’s Rising BMX Stars Qualify for Paris Olympics

The Chinese Cycling Association has officially announced the BMX Freestyle squad for the upcoming Paris Summer Olympics. Young talents Sun Jiaqi, 19, and Deng Yawen, 18, secured their spots by excelling in the Olympic Qualifier Series held in Shanghai and Budapest.

Sun Jiaqi made history as China's first BMX World Cup champion, while Deng Yawen is celebrated as the most versatile rider on the team. Their remarkable performances have quickly established China as a formidable force in the BMX Freestyle scene.

Since the inception of China's BMX Freestyle squad in 2018, the team has garnered numerous accolades, transforming into one of the best in the world within just six years. Although Sun Sibei, the runner-up at last year's World Championships, will not be competing in Paris, her achievements laid a strong foundation for her teammates.

As the Paris Games approach, Sun Jiaqi has reflected on her performance in Shanghai. Determined to build on her successes, she is focused on refining her skills to deliver a stellar performance in the Olympics.
