CHINADA Condemns USADA’s Politicization of Swimmers’ Doping Case

The China Anti-Doping Agency (CHINADA) has taken a strong stance against recent remarks made by the CEO of the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) during a U.S. congressional hearing.

In their statement released on Friday, CHINADA criticized the USADA CEO for what they describe as serious misrepresentations of China's anti-doping efforts. According to CHINADA, the USADA CEO employed emotional and political rhetoric, making unfounded accusations against Chinese athletes and alleging that CHINADA and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) were involved in covering up positive doping tests of Chinese swimmers.

CHINADA emphasized that these allegations have severely undermined the reputation of both CHINADA and WADA, as well as the global anti-doping system that strives to ensure fairness and integrity in sports worldwide.

The agency also condemned what it terms as USADA's "long arm" jurisdiction, labeling it as a display of hegemonism and imperiousness. CHINADA accused USADA of attempting to manipulate doping cases for political gain, which contradicts the principles of fairness, justice, and integrity that anti-doping organizations uphold.

In response, CHINADA firmly rejects and opposes USADA's actions, stating that such moves threaten to destabilize the well-established global anti-doping governance system designed to serve athletes impartially across the world.
