The New York Knicks have made a bold move this NBA offseason, trading Bojan Bogdanovic along with four unprotected first-round draft picks for Mikal Bridges from the Brooklyn Nets, ESPN reports.
Included in the trade are first-round picks for 2025, 2027, 2029, and 2031, a protected first-round pick in 2025 via the Milwaukee Bucks, and an unprotected first-round swap for 2028. In return, the Nets receive Bridges and a second-round pick in 2026.
This deal marks the first major trade of the offseason and is seen as a significant boost for the Knicks, who made it to the Eastern Conference semifinals last season. Bridges is expected to strengthen the Knicks' defense and versatility on the court.
Bojan Bogdanovic, acquired from the Detroit Pistons in February, struggled to find his rhythm with limited playing time, averaging just 19.2 minutes and 10.4 points per game. His performance included only 1.6 three-pointers per game at a 37% shooting rate and four postseason appearances.
With Bridges joining the lineup, Knicks fans are hopeful for a stronger performance in the upcoming season as the team aims to build on last year's success.
