China's women's volleyball team is set to make its 11th consecutive Olympic appearance at the 2024 Paris Games. Heading into the tournament, China will compete against host nation France, defending Olympic champions the United States, and reigning world champions Serbia in the first stage.
The team is looking to rebound from its performance in Tokyo, where the three-time Olympic champions faced an early exit during the first stage. Since their debut in Los Angeles in 1984, the China women's volleyball team has secured gold medals in Athens 2004 and Rio 2016, showcasing their prowess on the international stage.
The draw for the 12 qualified teams took place in Bangkok ahead of the FIVB Women's Volleyball Nations League Finals, dividing the teams into three pools of four. Aside from China, France, USA, and Serbia make up Pool A. Pool B includes Brazil, Poland, Japan, and Kenya, while Pool C consists of Italy, Türkiye, the Netherlands, and the Dominican Republic. The pool winners, runners-up, and the two best-ranked third-placed teams will advance to the quarterfinals.
The Olympic volleyball tournament will run from July 27 to August 11 at the South Paris Arena in the French capital, promising intense matches and thrilling volleyball action.
