Nadal and Alcaraz Team Up for Spain in 2024 Paris Olympics

In an exciting development for tennis enthusiasts worldwide, Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz have been selected to represent Spain at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. This dynamic duo is set to compete in both the singles and doubles events, aiming to bring home gold for their nation.

The Spanish Tennis Federation (RFET) confirmed the announcement during an event in Barcelona on Wednesday. Joining Nadal and Alcaraz are Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, Pablo Carreno Busta, and Marcel Granollers, forming a strong and versatile team for the Games.

Team captain David Ferrer revealed that both Nadal and Alcaraz will participate in the singles competition, alongside Davidovich Fokina and Carreno Busta. Additionally, the seasoned champion Nadal will partner with the rising star Alcaraz in the doubles event.

\"Rafa and Carlos will play together in Paris if nothing impedes it,\" Ferrer stated, emphasizing the significance of the Olympics. He highlighted that the Games are \"incredibly important\" for the athletes and the sport.

In a strategic move, Ferrer also announced that Nadal will skip Wimbledon this summer, marking his final season in professional tennis. Nadal, the 38-year-old with 22 Grand Slam titles, has expressed his focus on preparing meticulously for the Olympics.

Nadal's Olympic legacy is impressive, having won the gold medal in singles at Beijing 2008 and in doubles with Marc Lopez at Rio 2016. His experience and determination will be invaluable assets to the Spanish team as they compete on the world’s biggest sporting stage.
