Man United Won’t Hire Tuchel or Pochettino if Ten Hag Departs

Manchester United has announced that they will not consider appointing Thomas Tuchel or Mauricio Pochettino as their next manager should the club decide to part ways with Erik ten Hag, according to a report by ESPN on Monday.

Erik ten Hag, who took the helm at Old Trafford in 2022, currently has one year remaining on his contract. Under the Dutch manager's leadership, the Red Devils secured 66 victories from 114 matches across all competitions.

The team achieved a third-place finish in the 2022-23 season and ended last season in eighth place. A standout moment of Ten Hag's tenure was clinching the English FA Cup by overcoming local rivals Manchester City with a 2-1 victory at Wembley Stadium in May.

Both Tuchel and Pochettino are available for the role, having recently left managerial positions at Bayern Munich and Chelsea respectively. Neither club had a strong season, with Bayern unable to extend their Bundesliga dominance to 12 seasons and Chelsea finishing sixth in the Premier League.
