Mavericks’ Kidd Confident After Game 1 Loss, Eyes Game 2 Comeback

The Dallas Mavericks are set to face the Boston Celtics in Game 2 of the NBA Finals at TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts, on Sunday. After a 107-89 defeat in Game 1, Mavericks coach Jason Kidd remains optimistic about his team's chances.

\"There's no panic with this group,\" Kidd stated following Saturday's practice. \"We didn't play well in Game 1. Give credit to Boston; they did. But it's a series. We don't just look or capitalize on just one game. We've lost Game 1 a lot of times, and we've responded. We believe that we can respond in Game 2.\"

The Mavericks have a history of bouncing back after Game 1 losses in the playoffs. They were previously down by at least 25 points in their opening games against the Los Angeles Clippers and the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference first round and semifinals, respectively. According to ESPN Stats & Information, no team in NBA history has lost their first game in three consecutive Finals series when trailing by such margins. Despite these challenging starts, the Mavericks overcame these deficits to advance.

As they gear up for the second game, the Mavericks are focused on building on their strengths and addressing the shortcomings from Game 1. Fans and analysts alike will be watching closely to see if Kidd's team can mount another comeback and take the series forward.
