USA Stuns Pakistan in Thrilling T20 World Cup Super Over

The United States achieved one of the biggest upsets in Twenty20 World Cup history by edging out cricket heavyweight Pakistan in a dramatic Super Over tiebreaker.

Aaron Jones once again proved his mettle, delivering a match-winning performance after his impressive 94-run innings against Canada. Jones's crucial knock of 36 not out off 26 balls in the Super Over included a six off Haris Rauf and a decisive boundary that sealed the victory for the USA.

USA captain Monank Patel praised his team's performance, stating, \"It's a big achievement, beating Pakistan while playing them for the first time. We used the conditions well and kept them to 160, which was chaseable.\" His leadership was instrumental as Patel scored a vital 50 off 38 balls, setting up a competitive total for his team.

Pakistan, led by Babar Azam, struggled to capitalize on their opportunities, especially in the first six overs. Azam, who became the world's leading T20 run-getter, fell lbw to Jasdeep Singh in the 16th over, bringing Pakistan's total to 159-7.

The USA's disciplined bowling, particularly from Saurabh Netravalkar and Nosthush Kenjige, restricted Pakistan's batting lineup. In the Super Over, Netravalkar kept Pakistan in check, conceding only 13 runs and ensuring the USA's historic win.

This victory not only marks a significant moment for USA cricket but also highlights the growing competitiveness of emerging teams on the global stage. As Pakistan prepares to face India in New York, the USA has firmly established itself as a formidable contender in the tournament.
