Eiffel Tower Shines with Olympic Rings Ahead of Paris 2024

Paris is gearing up for the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in style, with a stunning display on one of its most iconic landmarks: the Eiffel Tower. On Thursday, a steel structure featuring the five Olympic rings was unveiled, marking the 50-day countdown to the Games.

The impressive Olympic logo, measuring 29 meters long and 15 meters high, is prominently positioned on the south side of the Eiffel Tower. Overlooking the picturesque River Seine, where the opening ceremony will take place, the logo is set to be a beacon throughout the Games from July 26 to August 11.

ArcelorMittal, the world's leading steel and mining company, showcased their commitment to sustainability in creating the structure. \"The manufacturing process began at our Chateauneuf and Le Creusot plants, where scrap steel was melted and pre-rolled, effectively giving that steel another life,\" the company explained. This recycled steel was then rolled at ArcelorMittal Dunkerque before being meticulously crafted near Epinal in the Vosges region. There, steel plates were cut, bent, welded, and painted to meet the precise color specifications required for this grand display.

This elegant installation not only adds a festive touch to Paris’s skyline but also highlights the collaborative effort and innovative spirit that will define the upcoming Olympic Games. As the city counts down to one of the world's biggest sporting events, the Eiffel Tower stands as a symbol of unity and global celebration.
