Czech Coach Hasek Sets Euro 2024 Knockout Ambitions

Ivan Hasek took charge of the Czech men's national football team in January, just months before the UEFA European Championship.

Despite reaching the quarterfinals in Euro 2021, the Czech Republic faced challenges in the following years, including missing out on the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification and struggling in the UEFA Nations League. These setbacks led to Hasek being entrusted with the task of revitalizing the team's performance.

Now, as Euro 2024 approaches, Hasek is focused on advancing to the knockout stages. \"Portugal is one of the favorites of the tournament. Türkiye is on the rise, and Georgia knocked out Greece, so they have a lot of quality, without a doubt. We go into every match to win it,\" Hasek stated in an interview with CGTN.

Grouped alongside Portugal, Georgia, and Türkiye, the Czech team is geared up to face tough competition. Hasek emphasized rigorous preparations and a determined mindset as the team aims to surpass previous performances and make a significant impact in the tournament.
