Luka Modric Signs One-Year Extension with Real Madrid Until 2025

Croatian superstar Luka Modric has agreed to a one-year contract extension with Real Madrid, ensuring his stay with the La Liga giants until 2025, as reported by The Athletic on Sunday.

The 38-year-old veteran has opted for a lower salary in his new deal, embracing a smaller role on the field. Despite this, Modric continues to make key contributions, helping Real Madrid secure both the La Liga and UEFA Champions League titles this season.

Since joining Real from Tottenham Hotspur in August 2012, Modric has made an impressive 534 appearances for the club, scoring 39 goals and providing 86 assists. His efforts have been instrumental in Real Madrid's dominance, contributing to four La Liga championships and six Champions League titles, among other honors.

The midfield partnership of Modric and Toni Kroos has been so integral to Real Madrid's success that the club initiated extension negotiations with both players earlier this year. However, Kroos has announced his retirement plans, intending to bow out after representing Germany in this year's UEFA European Championship.
