Beijing Dominates Nantong 5-2 as Chengdu Crushes Qingdao 7-0 in CSL Action

The Chinese Super League (CSL) delivered thrilling action on Sunday as Beijing Guoan secured a commanding 5-2 victory over Nantong Zhiyun, while Chengdu Rongcheng demolished Qingdao West Coast with an impressive 7-0 scoreline.

Beijing Guoan started strong with Fabio Abreu and He Yupeng scoring two headers within the first eight minutes, setting the tone for the match. Nantong Zhiyun responded through Zheng Haoqian's goal in the 23rd minute, but Beijing's Cao Yongjing extended their lead to 3-1 in the second half. Although Nantong's David Puclin narrowed the gap with a long-range shot, Abreu and Fang Hao ensured a comfortable win for Beijing.

\"We had a great start today but didn't stay focused all the time. Our team needs to create more opportunities offensively and maintain the momentum,\" commented Beijing head coach Ricardo Soares after the game.

In another standout performance, Chengdu Rongcheng overwhelmed Qingdao West Coast with seven goals. Wei Shihao, Felipe Silva, and Elkeson each netted two goals, while Mirahmetjan Muzepper added another, showcasing Chengdu's offensive prowess.

The day also saw Shanghai Shenhua edging out Shenzhen Peng City 1-0, Shanghai Port cruising past Cangzhou Mighty Lions 4-1, Qingdao Hainiu securing a 3-1 win over Tianjin Jinmen Tiger, and Changchun Yatai and Henan FC ending in a goalless draw.

These results have significant implications for the CSL standings, highlighting the competitive nature of the league as teams vie for top positions.
