Dallas Cowboys’ Dak Prescott Focuses on the Game Over Contract Extension

Dallas Cowboys' quarterback Dak Prescott is in the final year of his four-year, $160 million contract, yet he shows no urgency in seeking an extension. Speaking at Wednesday's organized team activities, Prescott emphasized his passion for football over financial incentives.

\"I don't play for money. Never have, never cared for it, to be honest with you, yeah,\" Prescott stated. \"Would give it up just to play this game. So, I allow the business people to say what it's worth, what they're supposed to give a quarterback of my play, a person of my play, a leader of my play. For me, it's about, as I said, control what I can control and handle that part and the rest will take care of itself.\"

When Prescott agreed to his current deal in 2021, the Cowboys secured his no-trade and no-tag rights, granting him the freedom to become an unrestricted free agent if he doesn't renew his contract by March 2025.

Prescott had a stellar last season, completing 410 of 590 passes for 4,516 yards and 36 touchdowns, both career and league highs, albeit with nine interceptions. He also contributed 242 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 55 carries. His outstanding performance earned him a spot in the Pro Bowl and a Second-team All-Pro selection.

As Prescott continues to excel on the field, fans and analysts alike are eager to see if he will commit his future to Dallas, reinforcing his role as a key player in the Cowboys' lineup.
