China Clinches Women’s Singles Title at Badminton Asia Championships, Secures Olympic Quota

Team China triumphed at the Badminton Asia Championships on Friday, claiming the women's singles gold medal. In the semi-finals, fifth seed He Bingjiao faced off against South Korea's world number one An Se-young, while Olympic champion Chen Yufei took on Han Yue.

He Bingjiao delivered a hard-fought victory against An Se-young with scores of 21-17, 21-18, overcoming a seven-match losing streak against her opponent. \"I had lost to her seven times in a row before this match, so I prepared a lot for today's competition. I was very patient on the court and tried to make fewer mistakes. That's how I managed to win,\" He stated after her triumphant performance.

In another intense semi-final, Wang Zhiyi made a remarkable comeback to defeat Japan's Aya Ohori 15-21, 21-12, 21-11, securing her place in the finals.

Meanwhile, the Chinese men's duo Liu Yuchen and Ou Xuanyi secured a second berth for China in this category, ensuring that the Chinese badminton team has qualified for the Paris Olympics with a full quota.

An Se-young acknowledged the tough competition, saying, \"She played very well. She showed a lot of confidence today. I don't think I can beat that.\"
