Olympic Rings Illuminate Eiffel Tower Ahead of Paris 2024 Games

Olympic Rings Sparkle on Eiffel Tower, Heralding Paris Games

The iconic Eiffel Tower will soon don the vibrant Olympic rings, marking its central role in the upcoming Paris Games. Jean-Francois Martins, president of SETE, the operating company of the monument, announced that the installation of the rings is set to begin at the end of the month.

Strategically positioned on the Seine side of the tower, the Olympic rings will provide a breathtaking backdrop as the world's athletes converge in Paris. This installation follows the departure of the Olympic torch from ancient Olympia in Greece, symbolizing the global unity and competition that the Games represent.

The Eiffel Tower is not only a symbol of Paris but also a key venue for the Games. It will serve as the 38-kilometer point of the marathon, offering a picturesque finish for runners from around the world. Additionally, the base of the tower will host the beach volleyball events, promising thrilling matches against the backdrop of one of the most recognized landmarks on the planet.

The Olympic flame will illuminate the Jardin des Tuileries, nestled near the Louvre Museum, adding to the city's cultural and historical ambiance during the Games, which run from July 26 to August 11.

As Paris prepares to welcome millions of spectators and participants, the fusion of sports, culture, and iconic architecture underscores the city's commitment to hosting a memorable and sustainable Olympic event.
