Mets’ Yohan Ramirez and Manager Carlos Mendoza Suspended

In a recent turn of events, the New York Mets find themselves grappling with suspensions as both relief pitcher Yohan Ramirez and manager Carlos Mendoza face disciplinary actions from Major League Baseball (MLB).

Ramirez was handed a three-game suspension following an incident in the Mets' narrow 7-6 defeat to the Milwaukee Brewers at Citi Field on March 30. During the seventh inning, Ramirez threw the ball at Brewers' designated hitter Rhys Hoskins from behind, an act that MLB deemed malicious.

Responding to the suspension, Ramirez stated, \"I was trying to throw my sinker inside. And sometimes when I try to get it too inside, the ball just runs. In this weather, I didn't have the grip that I want.\" Despite Ramirez's explanation, the incident has sparked debate among fans and players alike.

Both Mendoza and Brewers' manager Pat Murphy expressed their support for Ramirez's actions, suggesting it was unintentional. However, Hoskins voiced his disagreement, emphasizing the importance of maintaining sportsmanship on the field. \"Big-leaguers don't miss by eight feet,\" Hoskins remarked. \"Whether it was on purpose or not is really not for me to decide. But this game has had a way of policing itself for many, many years. So let's focus on doing it the right way if we're going to do that.\"

As the season progresses, the Mets will need to navigate these suspensions while striving to maintain their competitive edge in the league.
